During his career with Eli Lilly, Dr. Regev served as an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Indiana University School of Medicine. He served as Co-Chair of the Council of International Organizations of Medical Sciences (CIOMS) Working Group on Drug-Induced Liver Injury (DILI) and is a co-author of the CIOMS consensus report on DILI, published in June 2020.
He is the founding Co-Chair of the IQ-DILI Initiative and has co-chaired several key IQ DILI working groups, including the Immunotherapy, Gene Therapy, and Pediatrics Working Groups. Dr. Regev has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in leading scientific journals and texts.
Prior to joining Eli Lilly, Dr. Regev was an Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of the Hepatology Training Program at the University of Miami School of Medicine. During this time, he led multiple NIH- and industry-funded clinical trials and received numerous teaching and research awards.
Dr. Arie Regev is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist with more than 35 years of experience in the treatment and research of liver diseases. He recently retired from Eli Lilly where he served as Vice President of Global Patient Safety, Head of the Safety Advisory Hub, and Chair of the Liver Safety Advisory Committee, a role he held for 19 years. In this capacity, Dr. Regev provided strategic leadership and guidance on liver safety across all therapeutic areas and all phases of drug development.
